Brighton has a genuinely strong collection of production studio spaces — far better than most cities of its size — and knowing which space suits which brief is one of the more practical advantages of working with a local videographer rather than bringing in a crew from outside the city. Over the course of my work as a Brighton videographer, I've filmed across most of the city's key studio spaces, and each one has a distinct character that makes it better suited to some productions than others. If you're planning a corporate video, brand film, interview series, music video or product shoot in Brighton and trying to decide where to base the production, this is a practical guide to the spaces I'd recommend — and why.
Ironworks Studios — North Laine, Brighton
Ironworks is the go-to option for productions that need scale and flexibility in a Brighton city-centre location. The main studio runs to 1,500 square feet with high ceilings, an industrial aesthetic that photographs and films well without any dressing, and a built-in sound system that makes it genuinely practical for music video work and live performance filming as well as standard corporate and brand productions. The North Laine location is one of the most visually characterful parts of Brighton, useful if you need exterior shots or location cutaways as part of the production day. The kitchen and bar area makes longer shoot days considerably more manageable for larger crews.righton’s bustling North Laine, it’s easily accessible and surrounded by the creative vibrancy of the city.
Best for: music videos, brand films, live performance, corporate events, larger crew productions.

The Brighton Studio — Portslade
The Brighton Studio is the strongest option in the area if your production requires a clean infinity cove — a seamless curved background that eliminates the floor-wall join and creates the kind of pure, uncluttered frame that product shoots, fashion films and interview setups often demand. At 800 square feet it's more compact than Ironworks, which actually works in its favour for smaller, tighter productions where a cavernous space would feel underused. The dedicated makeup and dressing room is a meaningful practical asset on shoots involving on-camera talent. Portslade is slightly further from the city centre but easy to reach and parking is considerably less fraught than central Brighton.
Best for: product shoots, fashion and beauty films, interview setups, e-commerce video content.

Copperdollar Studios — Central Brighton
Copperdollar operates two distinct studio spaces — The Hayloft and The Stable — both of which trade on character rather than scale. Wooden floors, rustic detailing and genuine natural light give both spaces a warmth and texture that sanitised commercial studios can't replicate, and the available props and backdrops extend the range of looks achievable without bringing in additional dressing. If your brand or project has an artisan, independent or vintage quality to it, Copperdollar will serve the visual language of that brief better than a white-walled corporate studio. Central Brighton location means easy access for both local talent and visiting clients.
Best for: portrait and lifestyle films, artisan brand content, fashion shoots with a vintage or independent aesthetic.

Studio by Sea — Hove
Studio by Sea is the most polished and specifically high-end option in the Brighton and Hove area. The 1,000 square foot space with polished concrete floors and high ceilings reads as genuinely luxurious on camera, and the combination of full-day natural light and blackout capability gives it a flexibility that many studios at this level don't offer. The private dressing area and client lounge signal a production environment that's set up for commercial and corporate clients who expect a professional experience from arrival to wrap. The Hove location provides a quieter, more considered setting than central Brighton for clients where that atmosphere matters.
Best for: high-end fashion and beauty films, luxury brand content, senior corporate interviews, commercial productions.

The Studio Brighton — Near Brighton Station
The most accessible studio on this list in terms of transport links — directly walkable from Brighton Station, which matters significantly for productions involving talent or clients travelling in from London or elsewhere. At 2,000 square feet it's the largest space covered here, with high ceilings and the full blackout capability that gives a DP maximum control over the lighting environment. The combination of size, accessibility and versatility makes it the most logical default choice for productions where the brief is broad and the crew is coming from multiple locations.
Best for: large-scale productions, workshops and events with video coverage, mixed-format shoots requiring maximum space flexibility.

Hiring a Videographer for Your Brighton Studio Shoot
Booking the right studio is one half of the equation. The other is having a videographer who knows how to work within each space — understanding how the light behaves at different times of day, which positions work for different types of shot, and how to plan a shoot day efficiently so you're not paying for studio time while the crew works out the basics. As a Brighton-based [videographer for studio productions → event videography service page], I work across all of the spaces listed above and can advise on which venue best suits your specific brief before you commit to a booking.
